I've spent a couple of years searching vainly for myself in this blog. I'm still hiding somewhere. When I find myself I'll be sure to bring it up as a topic.
What I think about these days is the lack of connection I have on a day-to-day basis with friends and family. Working with my daughter on her education requires time, time to plan, time to get it put in place, time to implement and time to figure out what to do next. We are being successful so I don't want to change that. But I do want to find a new way to stay connected.
Of course, homeschooling isn't the only thing I do. I've put some effort into keeping the house more efficiently. I'll never be a stellar housekeeper but I like a comfortable home. It takes time to do this. Not to mention planning meals and cooking them. I consider these primarily jobs and so they deserve the sort of attention any other paid job would.
I recently joined Facebook. We all did. What a hoot. However, that one Status line just isn't enough to explain what I do. Nor is Twitter sufficient. Our lives are just too involved! So here goes. I cannot imagine this information would be interesting to anyone but someone who knows us and remotely cares what our life looks like. So this is for those of you who do care. Thanks for taking a moment.
What else do you do on January 1 but pull out the new calendar and start filling in details. I actually put down the topics H. and I will work on for each day of the week. It helps. Since last fall I've been doing this and only rarely have we had to set something aside.
I actually put home chores on the weekly schedule. Otherwise I feel certain malaise would halt them altogether.
Plotting the meetings I attend at church makes my stomach churn as I realize the work I need to do for one of them. And then there's the art show the first of March. Agh! Too much!
Time to make bean soup for dinner!
I miss you too. It's hard keeping up with friends like you and Susan. We are all so busy, and when we have the time I just want to hunker down and not do anything. With that being said, Happy New Year and I hope we do have some time to spend together this year.

I think it's hard for all of us. That's why I thought, maybe, if I shared some of the details of my day my friends and family would feel more connected. And if they felt more connected they might post here and we'd actually touch base more often.
Hunkering down, I can totally relate. The work we all do is important so we need our down time as much as the active part. I also hope we can connect in person this year. I'll look for those opportunities.
